# Ethnicity Codes

> Hispanic/Latino origin ethnicity codes for CoBHRM

**Field format:** `9(2)` -- two-digit numeric string (single value)
**Valid values:** `01`-`05`, `98`

Ethnicity is a single-select field capturing Hispanic/Latino origin.

| Code | Description |
| - | - |
| `01` | No, the client is not Hispanic or Latino |
| `02` | Yes, the client is Hispanic (Mexican) |
| `03` | Yes, the client is Hispanic (Puerto Rican) |
| `04` | Yes, the client is Hispanic (Cuban) |
| `05` | Yes, the client is Hispanic (Other Hispanic) |
| `98` | The client declined to answer |

### Validation Rules

1. Cannot be blank, space, null, or empty
2. Must exactly match one of the values above
